Board of Trustees

The Florida International University Board of Trustees is composed of 13 members:

 

  • 5 appointed by the state Board of Governors;
  • 6 appointed by Florida’s governor;
  • 1 student and 1 faculty representation by the University’s Faculty Senate chair and Student Government President.

 

The Board is responsible for developing cost-effective policies, implementing and maintaining high-quality education programs consistent with the University’s mission, conducting performance evaluations, and assuring that the University meets state policy, budgeting, and education standards.
